I bought this memory for the Acer Aspire 5100 but is not working. I installed it, but not working at all. I can't make it work though. What am I doing wrong? Is this the wrong RAM memory I bought ?

I bought this to upgrade the OEM 1GB of ram that came with my Asus Eee PC 900a. Even though the manual doesn't specify PC2-6400 as being compatible it works great.

Replaced 2 512 MB 266 MHZ Dimms with 2 of these 1gb 333 MHZ on my sons old Dell 800.

First time I tried to replace memory on a PC. After seeing some YouTube videos, I can now confirm these are so easy to replace. Just make sure that they are placed in the slots correctly. (Else you get an error upon boot and a message reducing memory. :=0

The PC recogized the memory immediately and I was able to confirm the upgrade on System Icon on the control panel which reflected 2 Gb of memory.

The effect for boot time, active server pages and just about everything else was immediate and dramatic. Doubling the memory with 25% faster chips did the trick!

Don't seem to see any difference in heat generation over the original Dimms.
I do know these saved me from upgrading my Sons PC for at least another year!

I would recommend this if you have an older PC that could use a turbo boost.

I was torn between buying the Crucial RAM or buying the 2x 1GB set from Apple due to concerns that (since Jobs is a nutcase) the Crucial wouldn't fit my mid-2007 MacBook white/function properly (recommended dimensions from Apple are slightly smaller than the dimensions listed here), but I'm glad I saved myself $50 by going with Crucial. Snapped in perfectly and was recognized as soon as I booted up my computer! Activity Monitor looks much happier since the upgrade from 2 512MB sticks, and the increase in speed is noticeable.
Many people seemed to have issues with the shipping, but I received it within a week. I do agree that it could have been packaged better (only came with a couple of air packs), but it wasn't damaged so I'm not worried.
The only concern if you're buying this for a Mac computer is that your machine may not recognize the Crucial RAM if you have to do a clean install, so just keep your old RAM as backup. I don't see that this would be a problem, but I have had to do a clean install in the past, so I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Bottom line is that the Crucial RAM is half the price of the Apple RAM, it fits fine in their older MacBooks, and I've definitely noticed the increase in speed. I'm a happy camper.

This was a great purchase for the laptop and really increased the speed of operations.

I purchased this product for my ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE-MU27-PI 10.1-Inch Pink Netbook with Kindle for PC (11 Hours of Battery Life) after reading good things about those who spent the money on the extra RAM. They arrived together, so I installed the product before turning my PC on for the first time.

The rest of the day was spent customizing/installing/the usual new computer to-dos. I panicked that first night as I kept getting Microsoft's blue circle of "I'm too busy to listen to you right now." It made me panic, wondering if I had installed the RAM improperly, or if the netbook wasn't reading it, etc.. It turned out that once I stopped being an idiot trying to run five installers at once, everything was gravy. I now have Office 2007 and Google Chrome running simultaneously and have no complaints. This memory chip is well worth the price, as it means not having to watch that circle go round and round...and round some more. I didn't do it (because I'm impatient), but you should probably check the BIOS after installing to make sure that it recognizes the chip.

I recently ordered this RAM upgrade just before starting college so that my computer would have more power for multitasking. This product shipping was extremely quick. After installing the RAM into my late 2007 MacBook, the performance difference between 1 GB before and 4 GB now is truly night and day. Everything just loads quicker, such as Finder, iTunes, iPhoto, all iWork applications, CS5, and all other applications are significantly more responsive. If you want to seriously upgrade the performance of your computer quickly and without breaking the bank, there is no easier or better way than to upgrade the RAM.

I had 3GB manufactured in my Laptop already, however, I wanted to expand the system memory to speed things up a bit. It did. The only problem is to get full functionality of your 4GB, you have to install a 64 bit operating system, which luckily I had both a 32 bit and a 64 bit version of the product on hand, otherwise, you might end up having to go out and buy a 64 bit operating system. I had 3GB manufactured in my Laptop already, however, I wanted to expand the system memory to speed things up a bit. It did. The only problem is to get full functionality of your 4GB, you have to install a 64 bit operating system, which luckily I had both a 32 bit and a 64 bit version of the product on hand, otherwise, you might end up having to go out and buy a 64 bit operating system. I just installed this memory in my macbook pro. In 5 minutes I was up and running with an enormous 8G. This product works great.
